Brandye Lee, a Washington DC native, is a graduate of Sidwell Friends School and a cum laude alumna of Smith College (Economics & Afro-American Studies). She received her formal dance training as a scholarship student at Jones-Haywood School of Ballet, Dance Theater of Harlem and The Ailey School. Ms. Lee was a featured dancer with Ailey II and Disney’s “The Lion King” National Tour. Miss Lee has taught in many of the 47 states she toured, and has adjudicated for The Washington Post Music & Dance Scholarship Awards. She has also produced several concerts benefiting arts and education organizations nationwide. In 2008 she received two awards: The Woman of Excellence Award (Asbury United Methodist Church, Washington, DC) and The Outstanding Emerging Artist Award (Federal City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Washington, DC). A certified yoga instructor, Miss Lee is co-founder of B2 Movement for Change LLC, which promotes healthy lifestyles through dance and yoga. She is a principal artist with Collage Dance Collective.
