CONSERVATORY SAFETY
PROTOCOLS
THE POWER OF ONE:
COLLAGE DANCE CONSERVATORY’S COVID SAFETY PROTOCOLS
Each ONE of us has a responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of our collective community
Collage is proud to be a part of your village, and we take that role seriously. We know the importance of arts education and creative outlets for young people’s emotional, spiritual, and mental wellbeing. We also know that the coronavirus is disproportionately impacting our communities, so we must be extra vigilant in our efforts to minimize risk. We appreciate you taking the time to review these guidelines. If any of the protocols are unclear, please contact Marcellus Harper at 901-800-1873 or [email protected] for additional clarification.
GUIDE HIGHLIGHTS
- Stay home if you feel sick.
- Stay home if someone in your household is not feeling well, even if you feel fine.
- Stay home if you may have been in contact with anyone who may have COVID-19, even if you feel fine.
- When possible, dancers should arrive already dressed in their dance attire.
- All dancers must wear a mask inside the building regardless of vaccination status.
- Virtual classes are available for dancers in high risk groups or dancers who must shelter in place temporarily.
- Hand sanitizing stations are available throughout the building for dancer use.
- We have increased cleaning and sanitation of high touch surfaces for the safety of our dancers and staff.
What We Have Done
- Smaller class sizes. Each ballet class will be capped between 15 students.
- RTU Ionizers. Collage has added RTU ionizers in our HVAC systems. This technology kills pathogens and viruses in the air and helps ensure circulated air is safe.
- Contact-less restrooms. We have minimized touch points in all restrooms with automatic toilets, sinks, soap dispensers and paper towel dispensers.
- Staggered class times to minimize congestion and allow time for sanitation of studio high touch spots/areas.
- Increased sanitation of high-touch areas and daily professional cleaning of the facility.
- Expanded our foot print significantly with the new building to allow for effective social distancing.
WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO
In addition to Collage’s efforts to keep our community safe, you play a major role in the safety of our community. The following list represents our expectations of you.
- Get vaccinated! We strongly encourage dancers who are medically able to get vaccinated. It is our strongest defense against COVID-19 and helps us keep our community safe.
- Dancers who are not feeling well or exhibit cold or flu symptoms should attend classes virtually for 14 days after symptoms have stopped or with the clearance of a doctor’s note.
- If you test positive for COVID-19 or come into contact with someone who has, we ask that you do not come to the studio for 14 days or until you can produce a negative COVID test.
- If you test positive after coming to class, contact us immediately. This way, we can notify anyone else who was potentially exposed to help trace and contain any potential outbreaks.
Sanitation & Cleanliness
- High-touch surfaces including ballet barres, door handles, and restroom fixtures will be cleaned and sanitized between each class by staff members and regularly logged for monitoring. Additionally, professional services will be cleaning the building each evening.
- Hand sanitizing stations are located around the building and at each studio entrance for dancer use.
- Disinfectant wipes are available in each studio for dancers to sanitize ballet barres and equipment.
- Safety partitions have been added at the welcome desk to protect parents and staff.
ARRIVAL GUIDELINES
- The drop off lane should be used for immediate drop offs and pick ups ONLY. Parents who need to exit their vehicle should not use the drop-off lane.
- All dancers must wear a mask inside the building regardless of vaccination status. Teachers and staff will also be wearing masks.
- Students will have assigned spaces at the ballet barre and in the center.
- Students should bring their own water bottles, if necessary and materials. Students should not share items.
- Dancewear rentals are currently suspended.
- Items left behind at Collage will be discarded after each class. For safety purposes, there will be no lost and found.
RESTROOMS
- We encourage dancers to limit use of restrooms and make best efforts to use the restroom prior to leaving home for Collage.
If A Student has signs or symptoms of COVID-19
- Students experiencing symptoms that could potentially be associated with COVID-19 will be required to stay home for 14 days after the onset of symptoms to avoid placing other students and staff at risk.
- Other people at the facility with close contact to this person during this time should be considered exposed. Information on persons who had contact with the ill student during the time the student had symptoms and 7 days prior to symptoms will be compiled. Those with close contact within 6 feet of the student during this time would be considered exposed, should stay home for 14 days, and self-monitor for symptoms.
- Collage will take appropriate measures to clean and disinfect the location where the infected person was and any other impacted spaces, in accordance with CDC recommended protocols.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Collage will respect the privacy and confidentiality of any student who reports an illness. Please be aware that due to the seriousness of exposure to the novel coronavirus/COVID-19, Collage may need to inform others who came in close proximity to an infected student, without identifying the student by name. Collage also may be required to notify governmental authorities.
