In this highly engaging West African Dance Program, young dancers will take an imaginative journey to the motherland, embracing the essence of the West African culture as they develop skills in creative movement and various dance techniques of Mali, Guinea and Cote d’Ivoire, to the rhythms and beats of “live” African drums. Students will learn and appreciate aspects of the West African culture, its history, traditions, languages, and its diverse forms of dance and artistic expressions.
