A Season of Release, Resilience, and Radical Becoming

For sixteen years, Collage Dance has been a home for powerful performances, bold storytelling, and community connection. Our Sweet 16 season is more than a milestone—it’s a declaration:

We’re still here. Still dancing. Still becoming.

Performance Schedule & Key Dates

This season unfolds in three parts, like the journey we all take to find ourselves.

LET IT FALL

– our FALL SEASON – is the release.

Of what was.  A letting go that frees the future.

OCTOBER 10 – 12, 2025
PLAYHOUSE ON THE SQUARE

Let It Fall opens Collage’s Sweet 16 season with a stirring collection of contemporary works that embrace the beauty of release and the quiet power of becoming. Curated with Collage’s signature blend of emotional depth and technical brilliance, the program features a world premiere by acclaimed choreographer Nicolo Fonte and the Memphis debut of a haunting work by Crystal Pite, one of the most influential dancemakers of our time. Also returning to the Collage stage: I AM MY WORK by Alvin Ailey alum and two-time Bessie Award winner Hope Boykin, and The Rate In Which I Am by Princess Grace Award winner Joshua Manculich.

With each work, LET IT FALL affirms Collage’s vision: ballet that speaks to the moment, rooted in excellence and alive with possibility.

RISE

– our WINTER SEASON – is the return.

To ourselves. To the work.  To each other.

FEBRUARY 20 – 22, 2026
CANNON CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS

Rise is a homecoming – a celebration of joy, tradition, and cultural legacy. This signature winter program features world premieres and Memphis debuts that honor resilience, heritage, and the power of community, including Kevin Thomas’s The Cotillion, inspired by Southern Black cotillion culture; Kevin Iega Jeff’s Flack, set to the music of Roberta Flack; and Rise, Thomas’s stirring neoclassical work set to Dr. King’s Mountaintop speech.

Sharing the stage are students from the Collage Dance Conservatory, our dance stars of tomorrow, making RISE not just a performance, but a powerful passing of the torch.

SWEET 16

– our ANNUAL GALA – is what comes next.

It’s not a destination.  It’s a choice – to keep evolving.  To believe in what’s possible.

SUNDAY, APRIL 12, 2026
FEDEX EVENT CENTER

Our signature event—a celebration of artistry, community, and the stories that move us all.
