Gaining recognition as the preeminent dance festival in the region, this free family-focused community event presented the best dance makers in the nation including Memphis’s own Lil Buck plus artists from New York City Ballet, SOLE Defined (DC), Alonzo King LINES Ballet (San Francisco), Nashville Ballet and Collage Dance Collective. This festival also includes performances from hometown favorites including: Ballet Memphis, Grizz Girls, Studio 413, Grind House Dance, Kindred Spirit, Collage Youth Ensemble and Company d, a nationally recognized dance company of young adults with Down syndrome! 

This year’s festival also included a highly-anticipated performance by the Grammy Award-winning Rebirth Brass Brand (New Orleans). 

Nearly 3,000 Memphis area residents attended the festival in 2023. The festivities included a day of top notch dance performances, live music, food trucks, community partners, small business vendors, raffles and more during the largest celebration of dance in the city of Memphis!

The Memphis Dance Festival is free and open to the public.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQS):

Where will the festival take place? The event will be held at Collage Dance Center from 12 – 4pm. 

Where should we park?  Parking is available in the Zion Temple Church parking lot located at Lipford St. and Sam Cooper Blvd or at the Binghampton Gateway Center located at Tillman St. and Sam Cooper Blvd  (Dollar Tree parking lot).

Will there be restrooms available? Public restrooms will be located at the west-end of the Memphis Dance Festival parking lot. Access to restrooms inside the Collage Dance Center will not be permitted.

Is there a general admission fee? The Memphis Dance Festival is FREE and open to the public.

Is RSVP confirmation required for entry? No, RSVP confirmation is not required for entry. 

Will performances take place throughout the entire festival? Yes! The Memphis Dance Festival features live music and dance performances throughout the entire 4-hour experience.

Will seating be provided for attendees? Two designated seating areas will be available, but capacity is limited. We kindly request attendees to wear comfortable shoes and, if possible, bring lawn chairs for additional seating.

Will food and beverages be available at the event? Nearly half a dozen food trucks and dessert vendors will be on-site offering diverse food and beverage options. You are encouraged to stay hydrated and welcome to bring your own food, if desired. 

Is Memphis Dance Fest handicap accessible? Yes, the Memphis Dance Festival is fully accessible.

Is there an age limit? Memphis Dance Fest is an all-ages event. While no minimum age is strictly enforced, we highly recommend parents accompany children under the age of 13.

Will there be merchandise or souvenirs available for purchase? A Collage tent will be present during the entire event where attendees can purchase Collage merchandise.
