Stage Manager / Production Coordinator
Collage Dance, a fast-growing and mission-driven national nonprofit organization, located in Memphis, Tenn. seeks a part-time, touring Stage Manager / Production Coordinator for engagements in the U.S. this spring and in the future.
Candidates should have a background in stage management and/or production management, including show-calling (experience with ballet or other dance forms is preferred); strong written and verbal communication skills, including the use of MS Word, MS Excel and Google Workspace apps; knowledge of theatrical touring (prior touring experience is preferred); and the flexibility to balance multiple projects with various information inflows and outflows.
General understanding of audio systems (primarily, familiarity with and/or willingness to learn QLab 4), lighting design, and wardrobe management is also an asset to this role.
The Stage Manager / Production Coordinator will collaborate with our Lighting Director / Production Manager to advance shows and will be joined at each tour stop by our Lighting Supervisor (or Lighting Director). The SM/PC is responsible for compiling the various technical elements into a prompt script in order to call the show; oversight of technical rehearsals; assembling the QLab file for audio playback; helping with lighting focus; and assisting in managing company performers’ movements and schedule. The position will be directly supervised on-site by CDC’s Executive and Artistic Directors.
CDC provides a weekly fee (by negotiation), door-to-door travel, single-occupancy hotel, and per diem for all engagements. Compensation is on a contractor (1099) basis. We request that applicants be available for ALL the below-listed touring dates, and as our touring calendar continues to evolve in the fall and onward, our preference would be to continue working with the same individual whenever possible
